National and International Affiliations
 

SBAC, Brazilian Society of Clinical Analyses, is affiliated to several international organisms which direct quality in laboratories of clinical analyses in all the world. Click on the icons and check.

SBAC participates, and is in charge of the secretariat of the Brazilian Committee CB 36 (Brazilian Committee of Clinical Analyses and In Vitro Diagnosis ), Brazilian Association of Technical Norms (ABNT), in order to make brazilian technical norms for the areas of its competence. With its direct participation, 7 (seven) important norms were already published.
Since its foundation the Brazilian Society of Clinical Analyses takes part in the Administration Council of the National Organization of Accreditation, by means of election among the associate members and its participation adds legitimacy and national representation to the Brazilian System of Accreditation.
In 1996, the Brazilian Society of Cinical Analyses affiliated as a professional member to NCCLS (National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards). In January 2005, NCCLS altered its name to CLSI. Most of the present directors of the Brazilian Society of Clinical Analyses are “Advisor” Members, a category of a high scientific importance inside the organizations, of CLSI.
SBAC is an effective member of IFCC, being its official representative in Brazil since 1974. At the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry - IFCC, the Society at present participates in the Education and Hemostasia Committees. The Society has developed implementation projects, scientific and technical support, for the internal and external control of the quality and the transference of technology together with OMS/OPAS – World Health Organization and Pan-American Health Organization.
The Brazilian Society of Clinical Analyses is an affiliated member of COLABIOCLI – Latin American Confederation of Clinical Biochemistry, being at present member of its Executive Board, Coordinator of the Quality Control group and of the Education Committee. It was delegated to the Society the production, for all Latin America, of COLABIOCLI secondary patterns for the following biochemical parameters: Glucose, Creatine, Sodium and Potassium.
Since may 1999, the Brazilian Society of Clinical Analyses acts as the Technical Secretariat of the Mercosul Sectorial Committee of Clinical Analyses and In Vitro Diagnosis (CSM 20) of the Mercosul Association of Normalization acting in the fields: normalization in the field of clinical analyses and in vitro diagnosis containing orientations for the laboratories of clinical analyses and systems of in vitro diagnosis, relative to administration and quality assurance, procedures and analytical performances, safety in laboratories, systems and reference materials, as well as the linked equipments, regarding terminology, requisites, test methods and generalities.
